The Seminal Plasma Hypersensitivity Alliance (SPH Alliance) is a patient-led organization dedicated to improving awareness, education, patient support, and research for seminal plasma hypersensitivity (SPH), also known as seminal fluid allergy.
Although SPH has been recognized in the medical literature for decades, it remains a poorly understood and underrecognized condition. Patients often experience delayed diagnosis, limited access to clinicians familiar with the disease, and few evidence-based treatment options. As a result, individuals affected by SPH may face significant physical, emotional, and reproductive challenges.
Our mission is to connect patients, clinicians, and researchers through accurate, evidence-based information while fostering collaboration to improve diagnosis, treatment, and future research.
To advance awareness, education, patient support, and research for seminal plasma hypersensitivity through collaboration among patients, clinicians, and scientists.
A future in which every person affected by seminal plasma hypersensitivity has timely access to an accurate diagnosis, evidence-based care, knowledgeable clinicians, and opportunities to participate in research that advances understanding of this rare disease.
The SPH Alliance is working to:
Increase awareness of seminal plasma hypersensitivity among healthcare professionals and the public.
Develop evidence-based educational resources for patients and clinicians.
Connect patients with clinicians experienced in diagnosing and treating SPH.
Support collaborative research and future patient registries.
Identify knowledge gaps and promote research to improve diagnosis and treatment.
